Most of Ward 4 is in the Fourth District of the Metropolitan Police Department. There is a portion of Chevy Chase Ward 4 in the Second District.

Every resident lives in a Police Service Area (PSA), and every PSA has a team of police officers and officials assigned to it. Residents should get to know their PSA team members and learn how to work with them to fight crime in their neighborhoods. To find your PSA click here

Dial 911 to request police, fire, and emergency medical services in situations that ARE life-threatening, involve serious violent crimes like homicide or assault, or that are in progress.

It is critical that you provide the operator with information that is as accurate and complete as possible. Try to remain calm, and speak slowly and clearly. While the information you provide will vary with the incident, there are some critical details that will be required in almost every instance.

Residents and visitors are also encouraged to call 311, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to request scheduled services such as trash removal, potholes, bulk pickups, and recycling. Residents may also use this number to report a missed scheduled service, inquire about city agency phone numbers and hours of operation, and to pursue other customer service-related items.
